150 Year Celebration

On Friday the 15th of April, Fleggburgh CE Primary School celebrated being 150 years old. The day was celebrated by a wonderful church service attended by The Right Reverend Graham James, Bishop of Norwich and members of the school community, past and present. The service included the pupils discussing school life in 1866 and today, recollections of life in the 1920’s poetry written by Diamond Class, a bible reading and singing ‘The Dragon Song’, written especially for the occasion.

After the service, everybody returned to school to visit the classrooms to look at all the children’s work based on 150 years of the school and village. There were also old photographs and documents to look at and everybody enjoyed seeing how the school had altered and changed!

There was a special first showing of the ‘150 Years of Fleggburgh CE Primary School’ film, made by all the pupils in the school, with help from film maker Matthew Harrison followed by the cutting of the anniversary cake and a cup of tea.

A great celebratory afternoon was had by all.
