Mrs Yassin teaches Emerald class. In the morning Mrs Smith teaches Year 2 and 3 in Sapphire Class. The support staff who work with Emerald class are Mrs Theobald, Ms Stevens and Mrs Eagle.

Recent Activities

Emerald Class Christmas

Emerald class have made Christmas scenes. First, collecting 5 ivy leaves and taking them inside. Emerald class then cut out the leaves into Christmas tree shapes and decorated them all.

Forest School

We have read the book, Don’t Hog The Hedge. We then went on to make our own hedgehogs out of plasticine and used sticks and twigs to create spikes.

Science

In science Emerald class have been doing an experiment about growing plants. We have been growing seeds in different conditions, such as; in the light and warm, in the dark and cold and in the light and cold. We have made predictions and are monitoring the results daily.

Geography

In geography Emerald class have been looking at the continents and oceans of the world.

World Mental Health Day

We all celebrated World Mental Health Day with the charity Young Minds # Hello Yellow. We wore yellow and thought about how we can help ourselves and others promote positive mental health. Singing happy songs definitely helped!

Forest School/Outdoor Learning

In outdoor learning during English, Emerald class made their own poems about Autumn. They did this by collecting interesting leaves and discussing their features, such as different shapes and colours.

Measuring

In maths we have been measuring and comparing.

Galaxies

We looked at pictures of far off galaxies and made our own chalk versions.

Harvest Festival

We really enjoyed our trip to church celebrate harvest festival. Everyone sand the songs beautifully and read their lines nice and clearly. Well done everyone!

Maths

We have been practicing how to write a correct number sentence in maths.

English

Here we are creating our own super hero characters and writing about what kind of powers they will need to be a good superhero.

Topic

In our topic you can see us creating our own image on God creating day 4. We have learnt that he made the moon and the stars on day 4. We used gold card and black paper to make our own night sky.
