Recent Activities

Talking Books

Year One and Two have been creating a talking book of their own favourite story that they can share with others. We learned how talking books differ from paper-based books, how to record our voices and how to create our characters to use in our stories. We thought they were great and we hope you do too!

Emerald class went on a trip to Banham Zoo

We have been finding out about habitats and carnivores, omnivores and herbivores. We have written recounts of the day and made collages of our favourite animals. Can you tell which animals we liked best?

Emerald Class RSHE

In RSHE we have been looking at different people and how they help us in the community.

Emerald Class Science

In science we have been scientists learning about animals. We have been finding out if they are mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish insects or birds. Alongside if they are herbivores, omnivores, or carnivores.

Vincent Van Gogh

In art we have been artists in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. Focusing on using a pencil for  sketching. We used his own art work as a reference and sketched in in our sketch books.

Emerald Class have been learning about the artist Vincent Van Gogh

We have painted in his style and had a go at making a 3D clay picture using either Sunflowers or Starry Night as our inspiration. Iria said, “I chose the sunflowers because I like the sun.”

Bee-Bots

Through play Reception have been exploring how Bee-Bots work. They have been learning how to move the Bee-Bots in different ways to better understand the controls.

This week we had, ‘don’t bump my nose’ races to see who could get the closest to, but not hit, the wood pile. Great fun was had by all!

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny visited our school on the last Friday of term. We searched for the eggs in our house teams and despite the strange weather, we managed to find all the eggs! The best part though was … eating them!

KS1 Football

A group of Year 1 and 2 children applied the skills they had learned by taking part in the Acle Cluster KS1 Football Tournament.

It was a lovey sunny afternoon and great fun was had by all.
