Timeline

We studied Tim Burners-Lee’s biography and produced a timeline of his life.

New Vocabulary

We are reading Tim Berners-Lee’s biography which contains lots of subject specific language. We learned techniques to help us understand vocabulary we don’t know then matched words to their definitions.

World Mental Health Day

We all celebrated World Mental Health Day with the charity Young Minds # Hello Yellow. We wore yellow and thought about how we can help ourselves and others promote positive mental health. Singing happy songs definitely helped!

Cross Country

Nine very determined children went to the Acle clusters cross country tournament. They all ran exceptionally well and we thank them for representing us so well.

Harvest Festival

Diamond Class are reading ‘Kiki Kallira breaks a kingdom’ and used the book as inspiration for their harvest festival service. It was set in Kiki’s sketched world of Mysore in India.

The class researched food in Mysore, wrote a piece for the harvest service and created a picture to illustrate the food. They really enjoyed making bondas’ an Indian potato snack and trying the sweets Mysore Pak and jalebis.

The Colour of Us

We read the book ‘The colours of us’ and each painted our own portraits using the book as inspiration. We are going to combine our portraits with Salhouse and Neatishead Primary schools to create a federation ‘The colour of us’.

Keep checking our class page to see the finished piece!

Peppered Moths

In science, we investigated Peppered Moths. They used to be with black dots, but as their environment became more dirty from pollution, they have adapted to become black so that birds cannot find them and eat them. We made some dotted moths and some black moths and hid them in an area of the playground for our partners to find.

Promoting Self-esteem

In RSHE, we thought about how to promote positive self-esteem we played games thinking about what we are good at and then complimented each other. We all had much better self-esteem by the end of the lesson.

Outdoor Math

We used our measuring skills to solve real life problems in our playground. We learned we had to measure accurately to get the correct answers.

Chess Club

Jamie has very kindly set up and is running chess club on a Friday lunchtime for Diamond Class. The first one was all about the moves you can play and was a great success. Thank you Jamie.
